Delio Team Spotlight: Jon & Joe

To ensure the Delio team remain close as the company grows, our internal newsletter sheds some light of two of our team members each month. This month we found out a little more about Jon and Joe and thought we’d share it with you so you can get to know the team too.

Jon Watts, Delio

Jon Watts

Head of Delivery & Infrastructure

Before joining Delio, I worked at Creditsafe. Before this, working for Chemical Bank in the Foreign Exchange department was pretty random – this was in the days before electronic document exchange and when “the cloud” was just those fluffy things in the sky! I spent my time in a glorified cupboard! Besides Delio (obviously!) my most exciting job was when Chemical Bank merged with Chase Manhattan – I got the chance to live and work in New York which was a fantastic experience! My proudest moment at Delio is getting the Coutts project over the line!

People would be surprised to know that I was named after John Charles, the famous Welsh footballer! If I was stuck on an island, I’d take a pencil, a notebook and a picture of my family with me! My favourite movie line is “It’s a test, designed to provoke an emotional response” Bladerunner

Joe Morgan, Delio

Joe Morgan

Full Stack Developer

After graduating uni in the summer of 2017, I spent 9 months developing a piece of software for the architecture industry called Blueprint. Working on Blueprint was probably the most exciting job I’ve had (other than Delio of course!). We developed the entire piece of software from scratch and had several meetings with leading architect companies in London, all of which were very exciting (and nerve wracking!) People would be surprised to know that when I was 8 I almost lost my leg after running into a broken flower pot!!

If I could learn to do anything, it would be to fly a plane, maybe one day...

My favourite personal motto is “The harder you practice, the luckier you get!”

A special mention also goes to Adam and James - our employees of the month!

Adam. DevOps have really turned a corner and are vastly increasing the quality of our deliveries and changing the process as we go to make it easier. Adam has been instrumental to that and also explaining to the business what CI and CD is - outstanding Adam and well done!

James. James has been instrumental in coming up with and implementing the idea of how we change how we pull together releases, test deploy them and changing how the lead architects support the builds prior to deployment. Not only does it work, it’s made release management much easier so fantastic work James across the board”.
